Understanding teen feelings
Love and crushes can both feel intense
A new crush can make every message feel important. You might replay conversations, feel nervous at school, or wonder what the other person is doing. Those reactions are common, but intensity does not automatically mean that a relationship is healthy or lasting.
Healthy young relationships leave room for school, family, hobbies, and other friendships. Both people can say no, take time apart, and move at a pace that feels comfortable. You should never need to share passwords, prove your feelings, or ignore your boundaries.
Signs of a healthy teen relationship
- You can be yourself without pretending to be older, cooler, or more experienced.
- Neither person pressures the other for photos, passwords, affection, or private information.
- You still spend time with friends and keep up with responsibilities.
- Disagreements do not involve threats, humiliation, or controlling behavior.
- A trusted adult or friend would not make you hide how the person treats you.
What to do after your result
Treat the result as a prompt for reflection, not a verdict. Give your feelings time. Talk to someone you trust, especially if the relationship makes you anxious, isolated, pressured, or unsafe. A caring person will respect your pace and your right to change your mind.
